About this project

ARPA Grant: $50,000 Approved: June 15, 2022 The Town of Londonderry will use this ARPA grant to develop a water system financial plan to assess the feasibility of procurement of a public water system for the Town with the purpose of expanding public water service to address widespread PFAS contamination of private residential wells. The U.S. Department of Treasury made significant changes in its final rule that was published on January 6, 2022. The new rules, effective April 1, 2022, specifically allow for the expanded use of ARPA funds for infrastructure projects that improve access to and provision of safe drinking water for individuals served by residential wells. This planning project is strategically important to New Hampshire due to the large number of private residential well users in Londonderry with concentrations of PFAS above the applicable current maximum contaminant level (MCL).
